Describe something you learned in high school.

My high school years fell between 1993-1997, and I would have to say it was one of the best memories I experienced. I learned a variety of things… we lost a school mate that year, which taught me “life is short, so enjoy!”

I was a varsity tennis player for all four years which taught me that in order to stay number one, you have to be willing to do the work the others won’t do. This is where I learned the process of becoming better in my physical fitness which I still cherish to this day.

I also learned about my chronic illness as a sophomore. As a kid, I didn’t think much about it until I started developing symptoms. This has been a life long process which I’m still currently trying to grasp. This taught me that I could either allow the sickness to overtake me, or show others that life is worth living even with chronic pain.
