Forgiving yourself when you were younger can help the healing process as you age. I had to talk to the inner child inside myself and told her, “if I had known better, I would have done better.”
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! We can’t change what happened to you in the past. We can only get better as we allow ourselves grow. Life circumstances builds character on how you handle situations. You gain knowledge that you perhaps didn’t have before. That is where we get the saying, “as you get older, you become wiser.”
In my 43 years of life, I have dealt with more struggles than the majority of people have in a lifetime. Overcoming child hood trauma, having kids at an early age, and being diagnosed with an incurable disease that will gradually deteriorate my body as I age from the inside out. It sounds like a horror movie, but as I sit here and reflect… I’m thankful for what God has allowed me to learn in each of those circumstances.
I have learned that I had strength I never seen before. I saw myself going through phases in which I was healing the inner child so I could allow myself to grow into who I am today. A unhealed child only grows up to become an unhealed adult. Something to remember when you wonder why you act a certain way. Healing that inner child in you, will only allow you to become one with yourself. Be the adult that you needed when you were younger.
