Take a Break- It’s Good for your Soul!

Yesterday, my husband and I did a spontaneous thing that we hadn’t done in years. We went on a road trip! Since I stopped working in 2020, life has gotten really tight. New house, moving, doctors appointments, and moving our kids to another town.

It’s been two years since we left for a day trip to go enjoy. No schedule, no itinerary, just enjoying the moment. We decided to go to Big Bend National Park, located close to the border of Texas and Mexico. If you never visited, I highly encourage it.

The landscape, the mountains, the green scenery was so different from my everyday view. We even spotted a bear cub walking onto the highway. I wasn’t able to get a picture, but just knowing I saw one. I have gone to Colorado, multiple times in my life, and was always alert to see a bear. However, I always came home without a sighting.

As we drove home, we decided to stop in Marathon, TX at The Gage Hotel. A very classy, elegant steak house and hotel, that is well known in this part of West Texas. When we arrived home, I felt so rested and clear minded. Today, I was able to think clearly with few frustrations. I made so much progress today, which made me feel worthy.

Whenever you are feel down, or easily frustrated about things. A nice little day trip, or a day away from that project your busy working on… can really do wonders for you. Today I felt alive, refreshed, and ready to conquer my goals on day at a time!
