A Chiari malformation is a problem in which a part of the brain (the cerebellum) at the back of the skull bulges through a normal opening in the skull where it joins the spinal canal. This puts pressure on parts of the brain and spinal cord, and can cause mild to severe symptoms. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwinzM-7z-T3AhUHkmoFHWdXDVsQFnoECBsQAw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hopkinsmedicine.org%2Fhealth%2Fconditions-and-diseases%2Fchiari-malformation-type-i&usg=AOvVaw3QBBtFCAvxMcdhIIBACeB-

My MRI shows that I have no other serious injury, just 5mm protruding out my skull. The Neurosurgeon at Southwestern, said my Chiari wasn’t serious enough for surgery. However, my body is in constant pain from the time I wake up. My neurologist Dr. Kadir (Odessa, Tx), has prescribed me the medication Amovig injection. I no longer wake up with everyday headaches. This medication has been a life changer for along with the proper diet and exercise.

Aimovig 140mg injection. I started out taking the 70 mg, but after 3 years my body was immune. I moved to 140mg and my pain is tolerable and no daily aches.
Once a month I take my pain injection. If I’m a few days late with my injection, my body feels it. I start feeling my pain symptoms in my neck and throughout my back. This is part of my new reality, but I’m blessed.
